Mission

Our customer is world market leader in a mechanical engineering segment for complete plant constructions and installation. The challenge to be addressed was the synchronization on all stages of component production and manufacturing with the installation performance, starting from real customer needs in real time. Target was to decrease stock and increase OTIF substantially.

 

Solution and Work Process

The project includes process analysis, data analysis and design of “to-be” supply chain model for full customer pull. On this specification following applications have been realized.

  • Implementation of a customized application for detailed simulation-based planning of the main assembly

  • Implementation of a customized installation planning and site preparation application digitizing the workflow and capacity planning

  • Implementation of the module for synchronized capacity and material planning on all supply chain steps. This enables internal and external capacities to be aligned in real time before entering into production.

Results

The implementation of the digital twin for integrated and detailed scenario planning leads in the areas of project realization to

  • Throughput time reduction from 65 days to 10 days

  • Inventory: - 50%

  • Productivity: + 24%

  • Delivery reliability: 98%
