Mission
For the further expansion of market leadership in the sheet piling segment, our client wanted to strengthen its customer orientation with an outstanding delivery service management. STREMLER AG was commissioned with the development of an order center as planning and logistics platform to coordinate all logistic services and to improve productivity while lowering transport cost.
Solution and Work Process
In a pilot project an integrated order center for the local plants was developed, and included a various number of topics:
Creation of a platform for customer service, order processing, production program planning of the plants and integrated materials management
Integration of scrap metal and primary product procurement
Creation of a logistics platform for all inbound and outbound transports
Alignment of the ERP system platforms and the interfaces with the plant systems
Reengineering and implementation of the IT systems for order processing, production planning, logistics and transport planning
Results
The benefits of the project were convincing, with an important increase in delivery performance while stocks were reduced
Cost reduction of 30 % in the areas of personnel and resources
Shortening of the response times for customer delivery dates by > 90 %
Reduction in customer stocks, safety stock and in distribution by > 30 %
Reduction in transport costs by 15 % as set target
Improvement of the delivery service degree in Europe and worldwide to > 95 %
