Mission
The costs of energy consumption is by far the highest expense for the operational management of the production infrastructure consisting of electric melt furnaces, continuous casting and rolling mills. The peaks of energy demand are added cost drivers in particular, when all the sites are in the peak mode. The optimizing of the costs for energy was the target of the mission for the team of STREMLER AG.
Solution and Work Process
Our target consist to elaborate a concept for energy balance management for the pilot site. In detail:
Visualization of the time periodic energy consumption and the price variance of the energy volume supply mix for the same cycles
Build up an IT-based energy balance management to visualize the variation over time of the energy processes of demand and supply
Work-out of rules for energy demand optimization in the orchestration of the different sites
Elaboration of a concept for price optimizing, based on balancing the periodical energy supply mix
System based real-time energy balance management in supply and demand by synchronisation of the multi facility and the supply mix
Implementation of a real-time monitoring platform for the continuous balancing and optimizing of energy costs for multi facility management
Results
Demand balancing through planning and forecasting of the production programs of the involved sites
Realtime monitoring of planned- and real-time-demand of energy
Digital Twin based simulation of the peak-demand for site and sourcing management
Power trading and rules for cost optimizing
